STUDIO NEWS

Congratulations to Jordan Kersten who moved to San Francisco to sing professionally! We miss you already Jordan!

Singer's Speakeasy
If you haven't already, come check out the Singer's Speakeasy the first Monday of every month 6:30-? at the studio. This is a fun, low-stress opportunity to hone your musicianship and lose some of your performance anxiety. This is also a salon-style forum so if you have a piece you want to try out on a receptive group of peers in a relaxed setting.
http://www.meetup.com/Singers-Speakeasy/ This is an open event so bring your friends.

Take your lessons wherever you go!
For a little while I will be offering Skype lessons at a discount:
$25/30-minute lesson . Skype lessons are a great supplement to in-person lessons. Skype lessons are used increasingly by professional singers on tour, and by Hollywood actors coaching w New Yorkers (Jeff Bridges for his role in Crazy Heart, for ex.). You will watch and hear yourself a little differently, bolster your home practice, and miss fewer lessons. For my part I would like to be able to keep our lesson times when I am touring abroad - something I will be doing quite a bit this coming fall.
Skype is FREE to download, and free for domestic chats. Even if you are tech-challenged you will find it easy to use. http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/home

Have your say
Thank you to everyone who weighed in on Yelp, Facebook or Google maps with your reviews! Word-of-mouth is really the only way the studio stays vital and grows so I appreciate your time and care. Let me know you posted a review and I will happily give you a gratis 30-minute lesson. Just be yourself and describe your experience.

CONGRATULATIONS SINGERS!!!

Another triumph! ..the audience singing along... The cries for more (literally!)... The concert was a big hit. And later at the Red Fox Room much adulation from the house band: "They are your students??" Oh yes. I was proud as a peacock.

Most of all, I was proud that each one of you took bold risks in performance and handled yourselves with such poise and musicality through the bumps.

Onward and upward! Our next studio recitals are tentatively set for June 30th at Home Restaurant on Riverside Dr. in the Silverlake area of Los Angeles.
and early August at St. James by the Sea in La Jolla
